The Ho
ngxing Bridge is located in the boundary point between Yao Ethnic Town, Yanling County, Hunan Province and Chenzhou City. It was co
nstructed firstly in March 1967, and finished in December. The bridge is 65 meters high, 155.8 meters in length and 8.2 meters in width, with 108.45 meters in main arch span. It was the second highest bridge with the largest span in Asia at that time, and also the first hyperbolic large-span arch bridge in Hunan Province. It was o
nce an im
portant bridge for transporting war equipment, and the throat of the south gate of Zhuzhou city. What's more, the line S322 came out of Zhuzhou city from here.
The bridge, with its dazzling halo, was o
nce the largest single-span bridge in Asia, and is still the world's lo
ngest double-arch bridge currently. o
nce in the bridge site, the red army fought fiercely on the long march, and the red army commanders broke through the enemy's second blockade after half a month. So the bridge got its name. The soldiers kept watch all year round before the 1980s.
When a man is walking on the bridge, he seems like wandering in a picture. Standing at the far end and overlooking the Red Star Bridge, it is straddling two mountains and flying above the valley. What a magnificent sight! Standing on the bridge and looking at the green mountain, water in the deep valley keeps roaring. What a particularly beautiful view!
